Tagua Earrings

Tagua is a natural product, coming from the tagua palm tree native to Ecuador. The nuts are harvested by indigenous people and are then used to create wonderful pieces of artwork, or the tagua nuts are made into jewellery like those gorgeous earrings in vivid colours. Not only does tagua provide the native population – often from rural areas – with an ethical income, free from drug trade, but tagua jewellery is an environmentally friendly product too. The palm trees are cared for by the locals and for the production of jewellery and other artwork only the nuts of the trees are collected.
